Snow Lake Trek—TREK ONLY (2024-25) – 17 days

For individuals who want to handle their own logistics in Skardu and Islamabad and simply need trekking services from Apricot Tours, we have created this “trek only” schedule. This itinerary’s services begin with hotel pickup in Skardu and conclude with drop-off in Skardu. Those interested in this Skardu-to-Hunza service will join the same groups that have reserved the 21-day all-inclusive experience and are traveling from Islamabad.

Dates & Cost: Snow Lake Trek (TREK ONLY)

Your dates of arrival in Skardu and Hunza following the hike are indicated in the table below. It is excellent for the groups coming from Islamabad to arrive on the same day. If the flight is canceled in the morning, they will leave Islamabad airport via the Karakoram Highway and complete the journey in two days, arriving in Skardu the next day. This can also have an impact on when the expedition ends. Since we cannot risk delays by attempting to board the aeroplane the next day, road travel is a backup plan.

Travelers will be responsible for any expenses (such as lodging, meals, etc.) they incur in Skardu before the journey begins if flights are canceled for any reason. Similarly, they will be responsible for any further expenses after we drop them in Hunza. If you want these expenses to be covered, we recommend booking our all-inclusive adventure.

Itinerary – Snow Lake Trek – TREK ONLY

The itinerary for our trek only is noticeable below.

Day 01: Arrive in Skardu (not included in trek-only holiday)

On this Day
GPS Data
Altitude: 2,498 m

Those interested in the Skardu to Nagar-Hunza service will join groups that have booked the all-inclusive hiking vacation and are traveling from Islamabad.

On this day, you should arrive in Skardu and either call our Skardu office or come in person to our office, which is located in Kushu Bagh near the House Finance building on Mohib Chowk (Junction) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The signboard at our office’s gate makes it simple for you to find us.

Foreign visitors are issued a Foreign Registration Card (FRC) upon arrival in Skardu. This card will be provided at the airport if you are flying, and at the checkpoint when you enter Skardu if you are driving anywhere. Give this top importance.
The following documents will be gathered from you by our manager for a final government verification:
Foreigners’ FRCs

For foreigners, a passport
Pakistani IDs (both local visitors and Pakistanis living abroad)
Your passport or visa’s entry stamp
The government authorities will receive and review these documents, and they will complete the final verification within at least 14 hours before sending a final letter of approval to the participants who were able to go to Skardu on this particular day.

Authorities may even randomly seek your actual presence, so you should stay in touch with our manager in Skardu today and tomorrow. You will also be asked to attend a briefing at the provincial tourism ministry office.

Ideally, this is the day that the big party from Islamabad will come as well. If the airline cancels their flight in the morning, they will begin their trek from Islamabad airport via the Karakoram Highway and finish it in two days, arriving in Skardu the next day.

This can also have an impact on when the expedition ends. Since we cannot risk delays by attempting to board the aeroplane the next day, road travel is a backup plan.

Apricot Tours will not cover some or all of your expenses (such as lodging, meals, etc.) in Skardu prior to the start of the walk if you cancel your flights for any reason.

Similarly, we won’t be held accountable for any further expenses after the drop in Hunza. You can reserve our all-inclusive trip and come to Islamabad with us if you want this taken care of.
What would occur if you didn’t make it to Skardu on this particular day?
Since we cannot alter the final list of participants on the letter of government approval, you will miss the walk (and lose any money paid) if you cannot reach Skardu on this day for any reason. The final approved letter includes the names of all those who submitted the required documents. However, if the airline cancels our Islamabad group’s flight and they travel by road, you can submit your paperwork the next day when they arrive.

Avoid taking this chance. Note: Our visitors must pay directly for this day’s costs, such as lodging, meals, and transportation, as we do not include these in the adventure package. You can reserve our all-inclusive trip and come to Islamabad with us if you want us to take care of this. Your journey with Apricot Tours begins on Day 3.
